Job Summary
Description
We are looking for a results-driven VMware focused senior systems engineer to optimize our companys VMware environment. You will be deploying and supporting VMware based Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) systems and applications as well as providing VMware and Cisco UCS support.
To ensure success as a senior systems engineer you should exhibit sound knowledge of VMware ESX and related technologies and experience in a similar role. An accomplished VMware engineer will be someone whose expertise results in the successful integration of VMware products across multiple data centers.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to team and customers responding promptly to issues reported by team and customers conducting root cause analysis and going through various testing scenarios for thorough resolution.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation and specifications on system builds disaster recovery and standard operating procedures.
- Good Understanding of shared storage technologies including SAN NAS Fiber channel iSCSI and NFS.
- Manage and administration of multiple Cisco UCS Domains.
- Plan test and deploy patches through VUM and AutoDeploy to manage version compliance.
- Drive root cause analysis and provide feedback to improve architecture changes.
- Drive customer escalated issues to closure by providing workarounds and fixes in a timely manner.
- Enhance customer satisfaction by responding to all customer issues and providing relief either through self or by driving visibility of the issues upstream to ensure they get fixed.
- Improve product supportability and serviceability by actively participating in new design development to provide feedback to drive increased stability of VMware platforms for enhanced customer satisfaction.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
- An ability to learn new technologies quickly good time management skills along with strong documentation skills.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Qualifications
7 years of core VMware experience with strong proficiency in the installation configuration and management of below technologies:
Required:
- 7 years of hands on experience with VMware ESXi 6.5 and above
- 7 years of hands on experience with vCenter HA/DRS Clusters
- 4 years of hands on experience with Cisco UCS Administration
- 4 years good understanding of Shares Storage Technologies
- 2 years good understanding of VMware Skyline
- 2 years of OS Troubleshooting experience
Desired:
- 2 years of hands on VMware experience on AWS
- 2 years of hands on Linux administration
- 2 years of hands on Windows administration
- 2 years good understanding of VMware NSX
- 2 years good understanding of vCloud Director
- 2 years good understanding of VMware Tanzu
- 2 years of good understanding of Network Administration
