the function

The Good & Green (G&G) team drives GIGs commitment of placing planet and people alongside profit. The team is responsible for designing driving and achieving the Godrej Industries Groups sustainability and social impact vision covering Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Workers Wellbeing. The function works closely with leadership across all our Group companies and cross-functional teams such as manufacturing supply chain R&D HR Investor Relations DEI Legal Finance Corporate Affairs Audit and Corporate Communications to create and deliver impactful environmental and social programmes.

We are seeking passionate and purpose-driven Communications Specialist to lead strategic communications for Godrej Good & Green. The ideal candidate will have a flair for storytelling a strong grasp of sustainability/CSR issues and deep experience with both media and internal stakeholders. You will manage both strategy and execution for the functions communications public relations and on-ground engagements and showcase Godrejs sustainability initiatives internally and externally. This role requires close coordination with ESG CSR DEI marketing corporate/ public affairs and HR teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Communications and Positioning

• Develop and implement a communications roadmap to amplify the Good & Green strategy milestones and impact stories.
• Collaborate with internal teams to create annual ESG/sustainability reports impact stories and thought leadership.
• Position Godrej as a sustainability and CSR thought leader through media panels events awards and thought leadership forums.

2. Content Creation Designing and Storytelling

• Craft compelling content (articles blogs reports social media videos) that translates technical sustainability work into engaging narratives.
• Lead regular updates and content curation for Good & Green pages across corporate and brand websites.
• Write and design program brochures impact factsheets and success stories.
• Design high-quality internal and external presentations for leadership meetings investor briefings events and campaigns.

3. Media Relations and PR

• Identify earned media opportunities and drive proactive media engagement on ESG issues.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with sustainability CSR business journalists and publications.
• Respond to press queries and support crisis communication (if needed).
• Identify and pitch to local and global platforms (conferences journals forums) for thought leadership opportunities.
• Craft compelling press releases op-eds speeches and key messages for leadership.
• Work closely with Godrej PR team to drive G&G agenda.

4. Internal Communications

• Build employee awareness and ownership of sustainability goals through internal newsletters campaigns and townhalls.
• Lead the development and circulation of the internal Good & Green newsletter across businesses.
• Support the creation and roll-out of sustainability training modules and e-learning courses.
• Be a custodian of Good & Green internal scorecards ensuring timely updates to CXOs and senior leaders.
• Create program collaterals

5. Digital and Social Media

• Partner with the digital marketing team to build sustainability visibility on LinkedIn Instagram and YouTube.
• Drive targeted campaigns around key international days (Earth Day World Environment Day etc.)

6. Events Engagements and Awards

• Plan and lead on-ground execution of key sustainability and CSR events internal (e.g. employee campaigns townhalls) and external (e.g. NGO partner events livelihood showcases etc.).
• Support execution of periodic Godrej Good & Green Council meetings ensuring alignment and follow-through on communications and stakeholder actions.
• Proactively seek and apply for relevant awards for CSR and Sustainability programs and build thought leadership

Who are we looking for

Education: Masters degree in mass communications/ mass media/ journalism/ humanities/ liberal arts

Experience: 8-10 years of relevant media and development sector experience preferably within development corporate sustainability impact sectors

Skills:

1. Must-Haves

• 810 years of experience in corporate communications preferably with exposure to ESG/sustainability/CSR.
• Excellent writing storytelling designing and advanced presentation (Power BI) skills.
• Experience working with media content agencies and digital platforms.
• Passion for sustainability and social impact.

2. Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience in a corporate sustainability team or development communications role.
• Exposure to integrated reporting GRI/SASB or ESG data visualization.
• Video scripting and basic design/ editing sensibility
