Job Summary and Responsibilities
** This position is in the Microbiology Department**
This position is accountable for the coordination of the assigned subspecialty(ies) for oversight of the technical aspects of the department section(s) quality control oversight and management and provides accurate and timely test results in a cost-effective manner. This position reviews evaluates coordinate and assists in the development and implementation of the department goals and objectives as they apply to the current CAP TJC DHS CLIA FDA OSHA and other regulatory agencies. This individual also performs the duties of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. This responsibility is to be carried out in the manner consistent with the Mission and Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy.
Job Requirements
Required:
- Bachelors Degree with Major in a biological science or US military equivalent
- Five years experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist
1 year internship in a hospital clinical laboratory
- Clinical Lab Scientist:CA (CLS:CA)
