University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient-centered AssistantNurse Manager to support our Muscatine Clinic within University of Iowa Community Clinics. This position will provide managerial and clinical nursing leadership for clinical outpatient services at the Muscatine clinic locationunder thedirection of the Associate Director and Nurse Manager to assure that all staff provide safe clinical care and have the education methods and resources to accomplish performance objectives. This position has some involvement in direct patient care as well as planning organizing directing evaluating and improving health care operations clinical education programs and research programs of clinical and health service departments. This position supports all of our University of Iowa Community Clinics and will travel between clinics to provide continued support when needed.

Assist in matters of promotion transfers and disciplinary action as directed by UICC management.

Collaborate with UICC management and UI Health Care Ambulatory Nursing department to identify Quality Management and patient satisfaction opportunities for improvement.

Implement and maintain standards and quality plans.
Identify inefficiencies in current practice/processes demonstrate tolerance for change and develop a means to enhance the process.
Consistently make sound judgments after gathering factual objective information.
Create and maintain a workplace of choice which motivates employees to work at optimal efficiency; encourages staff to regularly establish goals and objectives toward career development.

Communicate with patients families and staff to address and resolve issues.
Utilize human resources data and budgetary information to formulate recommendation to UICC leadership.

Provide evaluative feedback for staff members and health care students.
Coach the staff in implementation of standards of care professional development promote staff specialty & clinical certifications adherence to the standards of regulatory bodies (i.e. The Joint Commission OSHA and other regulatory bodies as appropriate)
Work with clinical instructors/educators to facilitate clinical education experiences.

Bachelors Degree in Nursing is required.
Experience Requirements
Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire.
Minimum of 1-3 years recent experience in leadership/management with demonstrated skills in management and supervision.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to serve as a liaison and to collaborate with physicians staff patients and other customers.

Proficiency with computer software applications (such as Microsoft programs)

Current valid drivers license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards.
Desirable Qualifications
Minimum 1-3 years outpatient Family Medicine or ambulatory care experience.
- Minimum 1-3 years Pediatrics and/or Womens Health experience.
Knowledge of UI and UI Health Care policies procedures and regulations.
Experience with development/implementation or evidence-based practice (EBP) standards.
Certification in a role or specialty through a nationally recognized professional nursing certification body. If not currently certified must seek certification in a role or specialty as soon as eligible to sit for the exam.
Master Degree in Nursing desired.
