Job Summary: The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing implementing and overseeing safety programs and procedures related to our solar energy projects. This role plays a crucial part in fostering a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety Program Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive safety programs and procedures tailored to the solar industry addressing potential hazards and risks specific to solar projects.

2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal state and local safety regulations as well as industry-specific standards and best practices.

3. Safety Training: Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees contractors and project stakeholders. Ensure that employees are aware of and trained on safety protocols.

4. Incident Reporting: Implement and manage an incident reporting system investigate incidents and accidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

5. Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of worksites and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety policies.

6. Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures including evacuation and first-aid protocols.

7. Safety Communication: Promote a culture of safety by effectively communicating safety guidelines best practices and updates to all team members.

8. Safety Records: Maintain accurate safety records incident reports and documentation as required by regulatory agencies.

9. Safety Committees: Lead or participate in safety committees to gather input from employees and improve safety practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in occupational health and safety environmental science or a related field. Relevant safety certifications (e.g. CSP CIH CHST) are a plus.

• Proven experience in safety coordination preferably in the solar or construction industry.

• OSHA 30 (commitment to work towards 500) and thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey safety information to diverse audiences.

• Public speaking skills and ability to create and present training materials to a diverse group.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Familiarity with safety management systems and software.

• A commitment to promoting and maintaining a culture of safety.

Salary: $60-65K
