ANTICIPATED WORK SCHEDULE:
Shifts will primarily be scheduled weekday evenings and weekends (Saturday & Sunday).
Schedule may vary depending on program-specific needs and scheduled events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ice Rink Operation Duties
Monitor and support ice programs and activities including public skate stick and puck skating classes and private rentals. Enforce Town policies and procedures as needed to ensure a safe environment.
Manage and monitor ice conditions including temperature thickness and hardness.
Evaluate conditions for safety and implement emergency action plans when required. Completes incident reports in a timely manner.
Assist in general rink maintenance including cleaning trash removal shoveling and upkeep of the facility storage room and public areas.
Effectively operates the skate sharpening machine or other machines needed for smooth operations.
Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment such as the skate sharpening machine rink boards and other related tools.
Maintain a clean and organized work area ensuring all equipment is properly stored and in good working condition.
Keep events on schedule according to the ice events schedule.
Perform opening and/or closing duties as required.
Multitask and interact with the public in a friendly and professional manner. Provides PEAK service to all guests. Responds to information requests comments and complaints from the public.
Completes a variety of paperwork including equipment checks daily logs records and incident reports.
Communicates effectively to establish and maintain relationships with fellow coworkers. Reports any issues or concerns with inventory facility conditions policies and incidents with supervisory staff as needed.
Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings
Town Wide Expectations/Duties
Serve as a professional ambassador of the Town by maintaining a professional image a team-based collaborative approach and high ethical standards
Inspect facilities and program areas to ensure a safe environment. Report safety concerns as needed.
Interpret communicate and enforce all Department Town County State and Federal policies and procedures within areas of program responsibility
Complete all required safety trainings in a timely manner and ensures staff compliance
Develop and accomplish goals and objectives to support the Department and Town mission
Other/Miscellaneous
Performs other related duties as assigned. May aid the Facility Maintenance Department when available
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
One-year related experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:
Ability to obtain CPR First Aid and AED certification within three months of employment
