About you

Are you ready to play a key role in shaping the future of procurement at Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service

Were looking for a dynamic curious and collaborative procurement professionalto join our Logistics & Resources team within the Community Safety Directorate. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will shape how we deliver smarter more sustainable services across Fire and Rescue Trading Standards and Coroners.

Youll be a trusted advisor to our stakeholders leading high value procurements and contributing to commercial strategies that align with our Working Together for a Safer Gloucestershire vision.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Delivering compliant procurement projects across the Directorate.
  • Supporting procurements producing clear compliant documentation that delivers value for money.
  • Developing commercial strategies and driving continuous improvement.
  • Proactively engaging with suppliers and the wider market to shape demand identify emerging opportunities and encourage innovative solutions that align with strategic objectives.
  • Ensuring procurement activities align with governance frameworks and are audit ready. Writing reports and supporting business case development.
  • Championing sustainability climate strategy and social value in procurement.
  • Building strong relationships across the directorate council and with external partners.

What Were Looking For

  • Strong technical expertise and a proven track record in public sector procurement and contract management.
  • Experience using procurement and contract management systems and leveraging data for decision-making.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Ability to build and manage strategic supplier relationships and support supplier performance improvement.
  • A natural collaborator who builds strong relationships influences outcomes and negotiates with clarity and confidence.
