The Buyer is responsible for the planning organizing and execution of tactical procurement activities specifically purchasing critical components and commodities for production.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager Strategic Sourcing Non-Metallics and is part of the Supply Chain & Logistics function located in Pensacola Florida United States and will be an on-site role.

What you will do:

• Place purchase orders with suppliers and leverage Daily Management to resolve short-term and systemic issues.
• Identify and implement countermeasures for supply chain disruptions. Gather and analyze data to problem solve to prevent reoccurrences and proactively communicate to relevant teams.
• Review and provide recommendations for kanban sizing parameters in accordance with Danaher Materials System (DMS)
• Collaborate and support sourcing team to work on supplier optimization ensuring organizational metrics are achieved
• Drive targeted sustainable improvement in supplier OTD Working Capital turns Purchase Price Variance and related KPIs/objectives by leveraging DBS tools facilitation skills and change management.

Who you are:

• Bachelors degree required with 3 years related experience OR Masters degree with 2 years of experience.
• Proven negotiation skills with demonstrated performance results
• Must have a strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems: SAP S/4HANA working knowledge is preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office applications especially Excel with the ability to learn new programs that are job specific.
• Self-driven and ability to work effectively in a cross functional environment

Travel Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to travel <10% within U.S.A.
• Must have a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift move or carry equipment up to 45lb on rare occasion

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Prior experience using Kanban systems as well as MIN/MAX inventory management systems.
• Prior professional experience within ISO 14001 or ICH Q7 certified organizations similar industry/regulated environment (FDA GMED NCIS etc)
• Continuous improvement/ process excellence experience in optimization of material systems
