As a Virtual Registered Nurse at MercyOne you will promote excellence in nursing practice and a thriving professional practice environment as evidenced by our designation as a Magnet Hospital. Schedule:
- 1800-0630
- Self Scheduling for weekends: you pick (2) Fridays (2) Saturdays and (2) Sundays in a 6 week period
- Holiday Rotation
General Requirements:
Functional Position / Assignment Virtual RN
The Virtual Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Nursing Care Team and is responsible for collaboration communication & facilitation of optimal provision of care through a computerized &/or digital platform supporting daily management of care.
Assignment Minimum Qualifications (required)
Minimum five (5) years of equivalent experience in health condition management in an adult acute care clinical setting with direct patient care experience within the last 10 years. Clinical information systems experience (e.g. EHR).
Adheres to the principles of caring and expected behaviors outlined in MercyOne Dubuque/Dyersville Medical Centers Model of Caring and Trinity Healths Code of Conduct fostering a climate where all customers are treated in a manner consistent with MercyOne Dubuque/Dyersville Medical Centers Mission and Values.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal State and local laws and regulations Trinity Healths Organizational Integrity Program Standards of Conduct as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest ethical and professional behavior.
Maintains a professional collaborative work environment so as to foster a positive public image for MercyOne Dubuque/Dyersville Medical Center.
Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health safety and medical information (i.e. HIPAA Stark etc.).
Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.
Practice within the legal scope of a registered professional nurse as outlined in the Iowa Board of Nursing Practice Act and deliver competent care consistent with standards/policies defined by professional nursing organizations MercyOne Dubuque/Dyersville Medical Center and external regulators/accreditation/certifying organizations.
Utilize research and evidence-based practice standards in the delivery of patient care.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Must be a registered nurse and must hold an active license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa.
Certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization is preferred and strongly encouraged.
The registered nurse continuously seeks opportunities to enhance his or her own professional nursing practice. Membership in an appropriate professional nursing organization is recommended.
Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will be within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
