Job Summary:The College Research Coordinator I assists researchers and staff within a department unit or college with proposal preparation and review proposal budget development award administration and related activities under general supervision. Provides guidance on compliance with Federal State and Local government regulations related to pre-award and/or post-award sponsored project activities. Participates in training as required by the Office for Research & Economic Development and serves as a liaison for the college to ORED.

Additional Department Summary:Supports the Computer Science (CS) Department and faculty with preparing collaborative funding proposals for sponsored research agencies and industry including assisting with identifying opportunities preparing competitive proposals and managing awarded projects. Pre-award responsibilities include developing budgets finalizing wording for proposals ensuring compliance with sponsor and university guidelines and coordinating submissions. Post-award responsibilities include monitoring expenditures preparing reports and assisting with audits. Maintains records of proposals and awards for each faculty member in the department.

Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher.

Skills and Knowledge:Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills. Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills. Good organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic setting and work at a rapid pace with numerous interruptions. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook etc.). High degree of self-motivation and directional initiative. Demonstrated tact versatility cooperation and adaptability.

Preferred Qualifications:MS degree in business or related areas. Two (2) years of experience in grant management or related areas. Experience as a grant specialist and project manager. Experience with Banner Concur ASTRA Everest Cayuse reconciling budgets and knowledge of accounting and purchasing policies and procedures.
