Title: Ignition SCADA Engineer
Location: Houston TX (Hybrid w/ 4 days onsite)
Duration: Long-term Contract
We are seeking an experienced Ignition SCADA Engineer to join our automation systems team. The selected candidate will play a key role in designing developing and maintaining Ignition-based HMI and SCADA applications to standardize visualization control and reporting functions across multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities:

Design configure and deploy SCADA solutions using Ignition 8.1 ensuring consistent implementation of HMI and control standards.

Participate in all phases of the software lifecycle-requirements gathering architecture development validation and release.

Collaborate closely with Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) teams to enable secure and efficient system integration.

Develop and enhance interfaces between Ignition and SQL databases REST APIs and third-party applications.
-
Assist in designing the system architecture and infrastructure to ensure high availability performance and scalability.

Contribute to Agile sprints working alongside cross-functional teams on enterprise-level automation projects.

Provide post-deployment support troubleshooting and performance tuning of Ignition applications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Ignition Certified Developer (preferred or required).
-
Hands-on expertise with Ignition version 8.1 or later.

Demonstrated experience in enterprise-scale SCADA deployment and integration.

Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals industrial communication protocols and OT/IT convergence.

Strong Python scripting skills for task automation and UI logic within Ignition.

Experience designing and managing SQL databases (MySQL MSSQL PostgreSQL).

Proven ability to analyze debug and optimize large distributed SCADA systems.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills in fast-paced technical environments.
