Initiative: Clean Energy Communities
Project: Communities and Local Government department seeks a dynamic team player to assist with the implementation of the Clean Energy Communities Program. This individual will also assist with ad-hoc tasks to support the implementation of other initiatives on the Communities and Local Govt team.
- Building energy efficiency relaunching in 2026 need support for project development and deployment.
- Work to gather clean energy initiative in a market place Understanding goal and mission effects on municipalities
- Tools: MS office NEIS Peoplesoft/ salesforce extensive use.
- Clean energy community carbon and reduction heat pump solar installation general understanding of local general challenges Act as PM in Department worked with Municipalities govt.
- IV process: Cover letter mandatory In-person IV. 20th oct ;
- 5-10% travel

- Programmatic Focus: Clean Energy Communities (CEC) Program
- Location: Remote (occasional travel 5 10%)
Primary Responsibilities
- Program Support: Help deploy Clean Energy Communities (CEC) 3.0 including:
- Development and management of CEC Cohorts (peer learning technical assistance grant support for community-scale building decarbonization).
- Support new solicitation development and enhancements to documentation.
- Project Management: Actively manage projects review deliverables and invoices coordinate with contractors and community applicants.
- Policy Support: Assist in developing policies to enable local government leadership in clean energy (e.g. benchmarking carbon reduction initiatives campaigns).
- Collaboration: Work with NYSERDA staff contractors and community stakeholders.
- General: Handle ad-hoc duties to support Communities & Local Government initiatives.
Skills & Experience Needed
- Stakeholder Management & Facilitation: Proven ability to engage communities manage relationships and drive collaboration.
- Communication: Strong written verbal and public speaking skills (will need to present to stakeholders and possibly at conferences).
- Strategic/Policy Development: Ability to influence and shape clean energy policies at the community level.
- Project Management: Skilled at implementing and tracking projects independently with minimal supervision.
- Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Must be resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities.
- Leadership/Team Skills: Experience guiding working groups and motivating others.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors in business engineering environmental policy or urban planning (preferred but not strictly required).
- Technical Systems: Must be comfortable with MS Office O365 Salesforce and NEIS (PeopleSoft).
Soft Criteria / Ideal Candidate
- Passionate about clean energy mission.
- Has policy program development or community energy experience.
- Comfortable working remotely self-starter able to balance multiple projects.
