Join our growing Transportation team in Saskatoon! In this role you will participate in the engineering design planning and field services for municipal infrastructure roadway and drainage and highway projects in Saskatchewan. You will work closely with our local team of professional and technical staff in the delivery of design and construction projects for various public and private-sector clients. We are committed to providing you with on-the-job training and mentoring in a supportive team atmosphere.
Internship length: 16-months
Primary responsibilities
Assist project engineers in carrying out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations completeness of data and adherence to prescribed methods
Assist in preparing preliminary and detailed design calculations modelling and drawings using industry-standard software and methods
Assist with writing project reports and documents for transportation municipal infrastructure and related roadway and drainage projects.
Assist with conducting field work including topographic surveys and construction layout site inspections and construction site supervision
Qualifications :
Requirements:
Knowledge of civil hydraulic structures and transportation engineering concepts and principles
Good academic record with course work weighted in civil/infrastructure engineering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License
Willingness to travel and to work away from home in a construction setting
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with GPS survey equipment and processes and AutoCAD software
Industry experience
The salary for this position ranges from $24.15 to $30.45 per hour depending on your academic profile the number of credits earned and your previous co-op or internship experience. The final offer and salary may be adjusted based on your unique profile.
