We are seeking a skilled Engine Cooling Design & Release Engineer to join our Core Engine Engineering this key role you will be responsible for the design development and release of engine cooling components for a major engine family. Components include water pumps thermostats CCVs hose and tube assemblies and other related parts.
This role is critical in ensuring system performance fuel economy improvements and reliability through robust design and testing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop design and release engine cooling components (water pumps thermostats CCVs hoses tubes etc.).
- Manage and direct engineering changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform root cause analyses and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with designers and CAE teams to optimize component and system designs.
- Utilize DFMEA to identify and assess risks; develop a robust DVP&R to validate reliability goals.
- Lead APQP activities during development including source package initiation and prototype procurement.
- Plan monitor and review DV and PV testing including post-test failure analysis.
- Support all aspects of product launch: component/system/vehicle testing manufacturing reviews service procedures production launch and change management.
Qualifications :
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 years of engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of engine operation.
- Proficiency in design tools and practices (CAD CAE CFD FEA GD&T).
- Excellent communication presentation and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word Excel PowerPoint Project).
- Highly self-motivated proactive and capable of managing multiple complex projects.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% (local and occasional trips across the US Canada and Mexico).
Preferred:
- Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience in the development of automotive cooling or lubrication systems.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification.
