Data Services Manager

As a Data Services Manager you will be responsible for data governance data manipulation data integration data acquisition building metrics and report generation. A successful Data Services Manager will be very hands-on analyzing raw data developing and maintaining datasets improving data quality and efficiency and delivering data-based insights and solutions. You will own end-to-end delivery of data products systems and data journey for given business processes supported by data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead a data delivery team onshore/offshore and deliver business intelligence metrics reports data conversions and mapping.

• Collect clarify and translate data requirements into documentation and conceptual design.

• Lead ad-hoc business deep dive analysis and present findings to senior leadership.

• Elicit requirements using interviews document analysis requirements workshops surveys site visits business process descriptions use cases scenarios business analysis tasks and workflow analysis.

• Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for data sets.

• Be accountable and own the development delivery and documentation of data management and BI solutions (analytics reporting dashboard). Create roadmap milestones for maturing the analytics and management space.

• Maintain a holistic view of information assets by creating and maintaining blueprints that illustrate how information is stored processed and accessed

• Responsible for working on data dictionary data mapping data lineage and data transformations keeping close attentions to data integrity data quality and timely delivery of the relevant data.

• Design and implement data solutions by inspecting cleansing transforming and modeling data with the goal of discovering useful information informing conclusion and supporting decision-making.

• Design and maintain data models used for reporting and analytics by extracting data from structured and unstructured sources.

• Help the broader team identify new features and business opportunities through data analysis.

• Create dashboards KPIs and build data visualizations to draw up trends patterns and outliers. Modify existing reports extracts dashboards and cubes as necessary.

• Enable self-service BI capabilities for users to be able to slice and dice information as needed.

• Monitor and tune BI tools data integrations to ensure optimum level of performance.

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud data services SQL Integration toolsets PowerBI

• Create best-practice reports based on data mining analysis and visualization.

• Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise data. Ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data practices policies and standards both at a technical and functional level.

• Support data storage and integration solutions including databases warehousing and BI solutions.

• Propose data schema and data flow optimization for reporting performance and enhancement as needed. Uses current knowledge of business and technology to recommend systems and process improvements.

• Partner with architecture and solution delivery teams to enable BI/data applications that have long-term value.

• Identify and implement automation across development and delivery processes.

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelors or Graduate Degree in computer science engineering mathematics or information systems

• Strong understanding of data engineering principles data governance and quality processes

• 8 years experience with SQL SQL Server ETL SSRS SSIS PowerBI SSAS software systems and programs

• 8 years experience with Agile Python Datawarehouse (Azure Data warehousing) Azure Cloud TSQL and R language software and systems

• 6 years experience with Data ingestion Data processing and Data publishing methodologies

• Fluent in statistics datasets and scripting

• Understanding of data modeling data schemas (normalized flat star snowflake etc.)

• Understanding of database operations and optimization for RDBMS like SQL Server

• Experience in extracting data from structured (RDBMS) and unstructured sources (flat files)

• Understanding data and query optimization query profiling and query performance monitoring tools and techniques

• Creating and maintaining business requirements and other technical documentation

• Proven experience in leading engineering teams

• Possess excellent problem solving analytical and communication skills
