The appointed Year 5 Teacher will be part of a collaborative upper KS2 phase and will teach a motivated Year 5 cohort from January 2026. The Year 5 Teacher will begin pre-term planning sessions and induction in the run-up to January 2026 preparing resources and assessment plans so that from January 2026 they are ready and resourced for the term.
What the Year 5 Teacher will do
As the Year 5 Teacher you will plan engaging sequences that deepen mathematical reasoning vocabulary and writing skills.
The Year 5 Teacher will use formative assessment to tailor learning and will lead targeted interventions as the Year 5 Teacher.
The Year 5 Teacher will liaise with parents attend curriculum meetings and contribute to whole-school improvement starting in January 2026.
The Year 5 Teacher will contribute to enrichment programmes supporting clubs and trips from January 2026 onwards.
Person specification for Year 5 Teacher
QTS and proven KS2 experience as a Year 5 Teacher.
A reflective Year 5 Teacher who values collaborative planning and evidence-based practice.
Strong behaviour management communication and assessment skills expected of the Year 5 Teacher.
Contract and start
This Full-Time Year 5 Teacher post commences January 2026. The Full-Time Year 5 Teacher will be expected to attend induction in January 2026 and to be fully in-class from January 2026 with mentoring provided for the Year 5 Teacher throughout the spring term.
