Job Role: Mechanical Engineer III
Work Location: Cupertino CA
Required Experience: 3 years
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced engineer to develop advanced thermal and multi-physics finite element models for battery cells packs and BMS subsystems. Collaborate with design teams to optimize thermal management and perform transient thermal/CFD simulations to enhance system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate thermal and multi-physics FE models of battery systems.
- Provide design guidance through simulation insights focusing on fast charging and high-power functions.
- Perform CFD simulations and create reduced order models for system-level studies.
- Collaborate with test labs for data validation and system teams for integrated modeling.
- Develop reusable workflows and implement best practices in thermal modeling.
- Drive CAE tool improvements and explore new analysis techniques.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 3 years industry experience.
- Expert in ANSYS Electronic Desktop and Icepak.
- Experience with transient thermal simulations and electronics cooling.
- Familiarity with multi-physics coupled modeling (thermal mechanical electrochemical).
- Python or scripting proficiency.
Preferred:
- 5 years relevant experience.
- Experience with Allegro battery pack design and project leadership.
