Job Title: Testing Engineer
Role Overview
The Testing Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality reliability and performance of home automation products including sensors switches controllers and gateways through systematic testing and documentation. The role involves creating and executing detailed test plans validating app functionality and collaborating closely with the development and installation teams to deliver flawless end-user experiences.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test Planning and amp; Documentation
Understand system and product requirements to design detailed and nbsp;test plans test cases and test scripts.
Maintain and regularly update a and nbsp;centralized test case repository and nbsp;for all devices (sensors switches controllers gateways etc.).
Execute test cycles and record results systematically.
Document all and nbsp;test results defect logs and performance reports and nbsp;with accuracy and traceability.
Work with developers to ensure timely defect resolution and retesting.
2. Mobile and amp; App Testing
Conduct and nbsp;functional and regression testing and nbsp;for and nbsp;Android/iOS apps and nbsp;controlling home automation systems.
Validate and nbsp;UI/UX flows responsiveness and the reliability of app-to-device commands.
Test and nbsp;remote access capabilities and nbsp;cloud synchronization and and nbsp;voice assistant integrations and nbsp;(Alexa Google Home Siri).
Identify inconsistencies between mobile app behavior and physical device responses.
3. Cross-Team Collaboration
Coordinate with and nbsp;embedded app and firmware teams and nbsp;for end-to-end validation.
Support and nbsp;installers and technical teams and nbsp;during on-site testing and issue replication.
Participate in and nbsp;review meetings and nbsp;to provide feedback and suggest quality improvements.
Soft Skills
Strong and nbsp;analytical and troubleshooting and nbsp;capabilities.
High and nbsp;attention to detail and nbsp;and a methodical approach to documentation.
Effective and nbsp;communication and collaboration and nbsp;skills to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to manage and nbsp;multiple products and concurrent projects and nbsp;efficiently.
Qualifications
ITI or Bachelors degree and nbsp;in Electronics Electrical Computer Science or a related field.
Prior experience (internship or professional) in testing QA or validation of and nbsp;IoT or hardware products and nbsp;is a plus.
Familiarity with and nbsp;test management tools mobile testing methodologies and version control systems preferred.
