Cook Dual Rate Supervisor Full Time (Harrah's Joliet)

Position Overview:

As a Cook/ Dual Rate Supervisorat our Steakhouse youll seamlessly blend culinary expertise with this dynamic role youll alternate between supervisory responsibilities and hands-on cooking ensuring exceptional guest experiences and smooth kitchen operations.

Dual Rate Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Lead and inspire kitchen staff with professionalism and teamwork
• Manage daily operations including food preparation inventory and cost control
• Collaborate on menu development for daily service and special events
• Uphold safety sanitation and equipment standards
• Elevate food quality presentation and kitchen efficiency
• Maintain labor standards while delivering top-tier service
• Ensure team compliance with appearance uniform and regulatory guidelines

Cook Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present dishes with consistency speed and creativity
• Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines
• Maintain freshness cleanliness and food quality standards
• Thrive in a fast-paced guest-focused environment
• Minimize waste through efficient ingredient use

Qualifications:

• Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum 2 years in high-volume kitchens (banquets buffets or specialty dining preferred)
• Strong leadership communication and customer service skills
• Flexible availability including nights weekends and holidays
• Proficiency in kitchen systems and software (Micros Excel Outlook)
• Internal candidates must meet Harrahs Joliet transfer eligibility

Job Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Frequent standing bending and reaching
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced guest-facing kitchen
• Tolerance for standard kitchen chemicals and temperature variations

Schedule & Employment Type:

• Full-Time Position
• Swing Shift: 1:00 PM Close (Start time may vary based on business needs; flexibility required)
• Must be available to work nights weekends and holidays

Compensation & Benefits

• $17.50.00 per hour as Cook
• $21.50 per hour as Dual Rate Supervisor
