ROLE Chemical Engineer

SALARYper annum (dependent on experience)

TYPE Permanent

LOCATION Hertfordshire

My client designs and manufactures specialist equipment for process industries. They are looking for a Chemical Engineer with a strong background in Design to join their team in Hertfordshire on a permanent basis.

The Chemical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Chemical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or similar

2-4 years or more of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong Design skills with the ability to design new processes

A background in Water / Chemical / O&G / Aerospace related industries would also be ideal

Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks Creo Inventor etc.
Knowledge of a variety of materials and manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication etc.
Strong Project Management skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Proven ability to take a leadership role and motivate others
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team

Responsibilities include:

Designing processes for equipment integration
Solving problems and improving engineering processes
Being involved in designing implementing and overseeing project plans
Updating 3D models and drawings
Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
Liaising with other departments to manage such projects
Liaising with manufacturing providers
Ensuring quality and H&S standards are met
Design equipment layouts
Maintaining technical documentation as required
Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
