The Opportunity

Our Western Sydney Service Centre (WSSC) is looking for an Operator/Trade to join the team! Working with BlueScopes newest paint line featuring modern equipment and automated process throughout the facility youll be working with premium COLORBOND products.

We are growing our team to support our Metal Coating Line project increasing our existing paint line operations at the WSSC site located in Erskine Park NSW. This development will provide up to 240000 tonnes of additional capacity to feed COLORBOND ZINCALUME and TRUECORE steel products used for roofs house frames and fencing.

Contributing to the safety quality and the reliability of our equipment youll perform a variety of Operator tasks throughout shift including operating machinery equipment troubleshooting plant setups and isolations. Working in a supportive team environment youll ensure the continuous production activities on our paint line whilst providing technical guidance and support on equipment. This position operates on a desirable rotating 12-hour shift pattern covering both day and night shifts.

What Will You Do

Demonstrating your technical capability youll ensure the quality and reliability of our equipment and products. You will also:

  • operate and monitor machinery to ensure smooth and safe production
  • conduct equipment and process inspections identifying issues and troubleshooting equipment
  • provide technical support and problem-solving insight to ensure the continuous functionality and reliability of equipment
  • work collaboratively with cross functional teams to improve the efficiency of equipment
  • ensure our quality products meet customers expectations and requirements
  • learn to operate overhead cranes with training
