About this Position
Drive a Transit Para-transit bus on campus city streets and state mandated highways. Safely transport University students staff/faculty and general public on a fixed scheduled bus route. Perform a prescribed pre-operational safety maintenance check. Accumulate and record statistics for daily report. Perform all other responsibilities as assigned. Must be at least 18 years of age or older and able to stoop bend or kneel to secure wheelchairs to fulfill ADA requirements which includes manual operation of wheelchair lift or ramp and lift at least 50 lbs. This is a safety-sensitive position and as required by USDOT: Safety-Sensitive employees must meet the requirements of 49 CFR Part 40 (Drug and Alcohol Regulations)
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- Certifications Registrations and/or Licenses:
Must have or obtain within 30 days of hire a Class B Commercial license with P endorsement and no air brake restriction cost of training for license to be covered by the department initially however it may be subject to reimbursement if the candidate leaves the position within one or two years of completion.
Must be 18 years or older.
Valid drivers license at the time of hire.
- Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:
Must be able to stoop bend or kneel for ADA wheelchair securement which includes operating ADA equipment in manual mode and lift at least 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
