Job Summary

Job Title:Long Term Substitute - Art Teacher	Location:District - Elementary Level
Class Title: Temporary - Non-Union - Non Exempt	Effective Date: 11/3/2025
Salary Range:$150/Day	Hours per week: 34 hours

General Statement:As a Teacher provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment where all students are encouraged to participate ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan. This position will support all three elementary schools.

Responsibilities:

Provides instruction on pre-approved curriculum in the content area.
Integrates soft-skill instruction into competency-based content area activities.
Promotes the use of multiple methods in solving problems identifying more efficient strategies.
Encourages collaborative teamwork in the classroom teaching students to communicate effectively and thoughtfully justify their reasoning and to consider multiple perspectives when solving problems.
Relates lesson content to prior and future learning.
Adheres to the requirements and standards of the Rhode Island Department of Education Educator Evaluation process.
Collaborates with other core content teachers on common course planning integration and alignment.
Attends all relevant professional development opportunities.
Committed to establishing and maintaining frequent communication with parents/guardians.
Possesses knowledge and skills in differentiating learning processes content and assessments.
Ability to adapt to the various ages within a Middle School setting.
Proficient in technological applications and presentation.
Establish appropriate classroom rules and procedures that are clearly understood by all students.
Effectively and consistently enforces rules and requires adherence to procedures by students.
Redirects students naturally and immediately without disrupting others.
Organizes materials and equipment etc. to be ready for immediate use.
Begins and ends class period with focus on learning.
Establishes a positive learning environment.
Performs related work as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years successful experience in teaching or administration preferred.
Education:
- Bachelors degree required.
Certification & Licensing:
- Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
Authorized to work in the USA
Current national background check without disqualifying results at time of hire.

Please note that all school year positions both certified and non-certified posted during the school year are temporary unless otherwise indicated to allow for internal movement at the close of the respective school year.
