Your Next Challenge
The Operations Manager (Road Logistics) which is based in Geraldton is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Newhauls Transport Operations division ensuring the safe efficient and cost-effective movement of product from pit to port. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance frontline delivery with long-term planning optimise systems and processes and coach and develop a team of supervisors.
Working in close partnership with key stakeholders across the Roads Division and beyond this role plays a pivotal part in delivering operational excellence achieving service and tonnage targets and maintaining Newhauls strong commitment to safety and compliance.
The Role in Action
- Leadership & People Management Recruit lead and develop Superintendents and Supervisors across multiple sites setting clear KPIs conducting performance reviews and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Operational Execution Oversee daily transport operations to ensure safe timely delivery while driving planning and scheduling to optimise resources and efficiency.
- Strategic Planning & Optimisation Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across labour fuel fleet and loaders while supporting digitisation and automation aligned with business goals.
- Safety & Compliance Champion a safety-first culture ensuring compliance with WHS and transport regulations (including WAHVA) leading incident investigations and enforcing safety protocols.
- Stakeholder Engagement Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders ensuring contractual obligations are met and exceeded while partnering with the People Team on workforce attraction.
