Ford is transforming the transportation industry delivering higher levels of automation continuously upgradeable performance and seamless connected experiences. Software connectivity and data are the cornerstones of this evolution delivering the foundational elements by which Ford will drive this evolution. This role will be central to Fords success in enabling a truly software defined vehicle.

The position will be required to interface with many functions regularly to architect develop and define the feature to assess options to deliver the requested functionality and the user experience. You will also be working with members of Technology Strategy to support strategic direction for the company and how to best realize the new functionality or features into our vehicle platforms and programs.



Responsibilities

What youll do...

  • Connect the new experiences and develop a concept of how this can be realized on the vehicle platforms and electrical architectures.
  • Interface with multi-functional teams including Ford and supplier Body Chassis Electrical Engineering etc. teams to lead overall feature development maturation and decision-making
  • Collaborate with Digital Product Teams to refine the UX and feature definition.
  • Collaborate with Platform System teams and/or functional areas to define the supporting functionality and feature definition for the use cases.
  • Collaborate with the Platform team to ensure the right hardware capability is included and the right APIs are on the roadmap and included in the feature functionality.
  • Work on concepts being passed from R&A assisting in further development to ready for the programs.
  • Work on special projects when other teams do not have the resources to support can be a variety of different developments ranging from Police features to new technology assessments.
  • Perform competitive analysis and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies in the automotive consumer and commercial fields
  • Development of vehicle architectures and full tech stack to enable world class experiences.
  • Lead team modernization and transformation including adoption of JIRA to track full life-cycle of SW development process.


Qualifications

Youll have...

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5 years of experience in digital focused systems including sensors actuators ECUs software
  • 5 years with managing vehicle programs GPDS and the technology planning processes
  • 5 years of experience managing features from conception to launch with the product delivering end-user experiences
  • Experience coding modeling and prototyping
  • Experience with digital signal protocols and processing of data

  • Masters degree
  • Strong communication (oral and written) skills; including the ability to explain complex concepts to audiences of varying levels of technical understanding
  • Systems engineering knowledge and capability
  • Able to cover a wide range of technical topics
  • Strong leadership skills ability to manage meetings with senior leaders
  • Experience with in-vehicle architectures and their roadmaps constraints and complexity
  • Experience with human-centered design and working directly with customers
  • Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions that deliver impact
  • Hyper collaborative team centric leader that can encourage and partner with teams and leaders regardless of level to advance the integration of digital experiences
