SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care using the nursing
process which includes assessment diagnosing planning implementation and evaluation.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assumes the responsibility for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Physician in the patient care area.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Attend staff meetings with at least 70% attendance to stay updated on policy and procedural
changes.
2. Participate in mandatory in-services safety drills and continuing education activities.
3. Adhere to hospital dress code attendance policies and behavioral standards.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
2. Current and active RN or LPN license for the State of Alabama.
3. Current CPR or BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred.
4. One year experience as a RN/LPN in a hospital setting preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. May be exposed to the risk of communicable diseases and radiation.
2. May require handling of unclean or infectious materials.
3. Normally works in a well lighted well ventilated area.
4. Must be able to work under the stress and conditions that normally exist in a hospital setting.
5. Classification Category I Tasks that involve exposure to blood bodily fluids or tissues.
