PWS (Performance Work Statement):
- The contractor shall provide Medical Technician (Phlebotomist) services to support the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) at the VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS) in Fresno California. Responsibilities include routine and STAT specimen collection (blood urine and other fluids) labeling processing documentation and reporting in accordance with national quality standards. Contractor must maintain all licenses complete mandatory VA trainings and ensure reliable service coverage across assigned shifts.
Qualification:
- Must hold a current California State Certified Phlebotomy Technician certificate (certificates from other states not accepted).
- Minimum 6 months experience performing venipunctures in a clinic or hospital setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (ACLS not required).
- Must complete all mandatory VA TMS training annually.
- Must maintain current licenses and certifications and submit renewals prior to expiration.
Work Hours:
- Shift duration: 8.5-hour shifts (includes 30-minute meal break).
- Weekly hours: 40 hours per week.
- Shift types: Day evening and night shifts (including weekends and federal holidays).
- Shift times: 04:3013:00 05:3014:00 07:0015:30 09:0017:30 11:3020:00.
