Job Summary

 

AECOM is seeking highly qualified Resident Engineers to lead construction inspection and contract administration activities on transportation infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary representative on-site overseeing contractor performance and verifying compliance with project plans specifications and applicable regulations

  • Manage daily inspection activities field staff and project documentation

  • Coordinate with NJDOT NJTA municipal stakeholders contractors and AECOM project management

  • Monitor project schedule budget and quality metrics proactively addressing issues as they arise

  • Review and process contractor submittals requests for information and change orders

  • Prepare progress reports maintain accurate records and participate in project meetings

  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and environmental compliance requirements

 

 


Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NICET Level IV certification in Transportation/Highway Construction

  • PE License (NJ Preferred)

  • The ideal candidates will have significant prior experience on New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) projects

  • Proficiency with NJDOT and NJTA specifications policies and construction administration procedures

  • Minimum of 10 years of construction inspection and contract administration experience on transportation projects half of it in the capacity of Resident Engineer

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey

  • Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills

  • Familiarity with electronic project management and documentation systems (e.g. Primavera CapEx NJDOT Site Manager)
