The Role
The GoPro Ecommerce Team is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Chargeback Analyst to join our team. This role will focus primarily on managing chargebacks and payment disputes ensuring efficient resolution and minimizing financial losses.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with payment platforms such as Adyen PayPal and American Express a strong understanding of ecommerce operations and a data-driven approach to fraud prevention. The Fraud Operations Analyst will work within the Ecommerce group and collaborate with internal teams (Customer Service Finance and Operations) and several external partners to reconcile order issues when needed.
What You Will Do
Chargeback & Dispute Management
- Monitor investigate and respond to chargebacks retrievals and payment disputes across multiple payment providers.
- Prepare and submit compelling representments (dispute responses) to recover funds when applicable.
Fraud and Policy Abuse Detection & Prevention
- Analyze chargeback trends and payment data to identify fraud and policy abuse patterns and root causes.
- Recommend and implement fraud rules or system enhancements based on data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with fraud prevention vendors and payment partners to optimize risk strategies.
- Manage various order operations tasks including but not limited to daily order reconciliation to ensure shipping SLAs are met.
Reporting & Analysis
- Generate and maintain chargeback and fraud-related reports for internal stakeholders.
- Track dispute outcomes win/loss ratios and key fraud KPIs to inform strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with internal teams (Customer Support Finance Payments Product) to resolve payment issues.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on fraud and payment workflows.
- Partner with Brand Protection and Customer Support on investigations.
Skills Were Excited About
- 3 years of relevant experience in chargeback processing and review.
- 3 years of relevant experience in global ecommerce fraud operations risk management or payments.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with payment gateways/processors (such as Adyen PayPal American Express Visa Mastercard).
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of ecommerce order flows payments lifecycle and chargeback processes.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze fraud/chargeback data and identify actionable insights.
- Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and payment dashboards.
- Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Detail-oriented proactive problem solver strong written/verbal communication and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Confidence in making instinctual decisions with little or no supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly.
- Commitment to meet deadlines and self motivated.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with fraud detection tools or rule engines (e.g. Riskified Forter Sift or internal fraud modules).
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to payments and fraud (e.g. PSD2 3DS PCI DSS).
- Knowledge and proficiency in business process management.
