The Role
Design and craft beautiful and engaging multimodal front-end experiences for the real-world scaled deployment of conversational medical AI systems both for patients and doctors. Youll work with a group of research scientists and engineers on a mission-driven team with high agency in a fast-paced environment.
Be a master of your craft in front-end engineering and an adaptable engineer who is excited and capable to also contribute hands-on throughout the stack and in back-end components of the system in service of our mission. Collaborate with researchers and engineers to build scalable infrastructure for deployments of conversational medical AI systems respecting all aspects of domain-specific compliance.
Key responsibilities:
- Design develop and implement high-quality responsive and multimodal (text audio video) user interfaces for groundbreaking conversational AI experiences in healthcare both with patients and doctors
- Implement efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex interactions in web applications and possibly mobile applications
- Collaborate with colleagues and possibly engage in full-stack development if required for engaging user experiences
- Partner closely with research product and design to bring new features and medical AI capabilities to real-world deployments
- Incorporate your passion for advancing human health and any previous knowledge or academic experience to join a team of hardworking individuals who openly collaborate with one another.
About You
Software Engineers come from a diverse set of backgrounds sometimes with degrees in Computer Science and sometimes with extensive experience with real problems or both.
In order to set you up for success as a Software Engineer at Google DeepMind we look for the following skills and experience:
- Experience designing and developing high-quality engaging and responsive front-end user interfaces
- Experience building and deploying web applications at scale using TypeScript React and other web technologies and similar frameworks
- Experience building mobile applications
- Experience developing and deploying front-end experiences for LLM-powered system
- Experience designing interfaces with real-time multimodal (text audio video) interfaces for generative AI applications
- Proven ability to work independently as a product-driven engineer solving for complex product specifications with minimal supervision
In addition the following would be an advantage:
- Experience in full-stack development using C and/or Python
- Experience working in research teams or in the context of scientific research
- Experience with compliant enterprise product development and data management in production
