Job Summary
The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre has 12 site groups and 26 specialty clinics and almost 3000 staff who see over 400000 patient visits every year. Its 800000 square feet house 130 inpatient beds 373000 square feet of research space and 17 radiation treatment machines making it one of the largest comprehensive cancer treatment facilities in the world and the largest radiation treatment centre in Canada. Duties
The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe evidence-based and compassionate care coordinating with physicians nurse practitioners pharmacists and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes in a fast-paced high-volume ambulatory environment.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing Masters Degree preferred
- Current certificate of competency (licensure) from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program
- Up to 4 (Four) years current and relevant experience including experience working in an advanced clinical practice role required (e.g. experience working with malignant hematology patients)
- Certification in Oncology Nursing from C.N.A. preferred
- Effective organizational interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent teaching skills with the ability to teach one-on-one and/or groups
- Ability to function collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and/or independently
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner
- Demonstrated awareness of and adherence to professional and ethical standards
- Client service oriented with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
- Computer literacy
- Research experience preferred
