Job Summary
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Director of Learning Humanities who is dynamic creative and ambitious.
The Director of Learning Humanities is a key post and an exciting one. We are looking for an exemplary leader to offer strategic direction creative curriculum design and team co-construction to ensure the outcomes for all students are exceptional.
Purpose:
- To raise standards of student attainment and achievement within the curriculum area and to monitor and support student progress.
- To be accountable for student progress and development within the subject area.
- To develop and enhance the teaching practice of others to create consistency of approach and excellence within the classroom.
- To ensure the provision of an appropriately broad balanced relevant and differentiated curriculum for students studying in the department in accordance with the aims of the school and the curricular policies.
- To be accountable for leading managing and developing the subject/curriculum area.
The right candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification
- Relevant specialist qualifications and experience (e.g BSc in History or related degree)
- Specialism in History
- Ability to deliver high-quality History lessons
- A good understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements for History
- Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning to ensure all learners progress and achieve to a high standard in preparation for examinations
