The Collins Aerospace IPS in Richardson TX has an immediate opening for a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to work in Advanced Systems on A-Kit and component electronics product development for defense applications.

The candidate will be responsible for design of A-Kit electrical hardware and associated systems for ground and airborne products & subsystems. The candidate will be performing electrical design electrical design analysis implementing design solutions performing simulations and performing analysis and testing of associated hardware in a laboratory setting.

What You Will Do:

• While maintaining and growing you EE skillset:

• PM&P (Parts Materials & Process)
• A-Kit (Alpha Kit) development selecting components that the customer approves
• Designing harnesses and cables to integrate into systems including radios aircraft and ground C2 systems.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
• Experience with power system design and analysis tools (SPICE SIMPLIS schematic/layout design software MATLAB/Simulink ADS Hyperlynx PI).
• Experience with schematic capture block diagrams and parts lists for complex electronics.
• Experience in testing electronic products using bench power supplies signal/waveform generators high-speed oscilloscopes power supply stability testers spectrum analyzers and debugging tools.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Experience with components selection and SDRL submission.
• Prior Cable Harnes and A-Kit design and implementation.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Active possession of an active U.S. government issued Secret or Top Secret clearance.
• Experience designing airborne electronic products with attendant size weight power and cost requirements.
• Electrical design and analysis with current software tools.
• Experience with design of high voltage and high current power conversion circuit assemblies including specification and selection of PCB materials high voltage/high current transformers inductors and FETs as well as implementing ADCs DACs and supporting analog circuits.
• Experience with various switched-mode power supply topologies and modeling.
• Experience with RF components or specifications and creating POL supplies for RF circuitry.
• Ability to handle fast paced and dynamic product development environment.
• Capable technical leader with good management and interpersonal skills.

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD - 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
