THE PROGRAM

The DarkStar Group is a member of 100% of the winning teams for the largest technology program in the Intel Community. Weve been supporting this customer on many different sub-projects of this program since our founding in 2013. The Role

  • IT Operations Officers provide operational support of systems by leveraging knowledge and hands on experience in networking systems administration database operations application and service administration. IT
  • Operations personnel perform routine maintenance patch applitations software upgrades assistance with engineering change implementation file system maintenance and log maintenance. IT Operations personnel also conduct system monitoring reviewing logs alerts and scan results for system anomalies security related issues and indications of impending problems.
  • In addition to providing operational support and monitoring IT Operations Officers assists Close Support and Engineering teams with fault isolation and fault resolution. This includes with issue diagnosis accepting Issues escalated by Close Support Teams resolving open issues when able and taking corrective action during system failures.
  • IT Operations Officer will help provide insight to engineering design and strategy to better the organization.
Duties:
  • This IT Operations Officer performs the following core functions:
  • Assist close support and engineering teams with fault isolation and resolution
  • Conduct routine patch applications security scanning and vulnerability resolution across a variety of standalone and enterprise class networks
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Close Support officers
  • Demonstrate the following:
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimum supervision
    • Ability to execute multiple tasks in an independent manner
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently as well on collaborative teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations determine course of action and act promptly and effectively when problems arise
  • Maintain appropriate technical training to ensure skills are kept current with evolving technology
  • Performs other duties as assigned at the direction of Project Management
Required Skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel on an infrequent but as needed basis primarily CON US
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with computer and network security implementations
  • Working knowledge of server administration maintenance and user account management
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with build and maintaining Windows Server and virtualization technologies
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash Powershell Python etc.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with basic networking and VPN technologies
Desired Skills (Optional)
  • Experience with customer IT system accreditation compliance and security controls
  • Experience building configuring updating and maintaining both sensitive and isolated LAN and desktop systems
  • Experience with Linux OS Cisco 10S
  • Enterprise database platforms such as MSSQL and OracleDB
  • Knowledge with SIEM and security analytical technologies (e.g. Splunk pcap Netflow etc)
  • Hands on experience with and advanced knowledge of networking routing switching sub netting firewalls VLANs ports and protocols
