Job Summary and Responsibilities
Are you a passionate Registered Nurse with a commitment to community health and a drive to prevent injury Northridge Hospital Dignity Health is currently seeking a talented and dedicated Trauma Center Injury Prevention Coordinator RNto join our dynamic team.
Under the supervision of the trauma program manager overall responsibilities include coordinating injury prevention programs planning and implementing tasks providing injury prevention education and conducting evaluations and reports to assess quality and performance of injury prevention programs. As part of the trauma team expectations include overall support as needed with performance improvement and registry.
- Promotes community awareness of the trauma system as well as injury prevention. Participates with community wide trauma education and injury prevention programs for both hospital and the public. This will require occasional weekends and flexibility with schedule and work location.
- Functions as a designated injury prevention spokesperson for injury prevention.
- Develops plans and implements injury prevention programs and outreach activities using evidence based research when available.
- Identify high rates of injury and the populations in which the injuries occur. Target the at-risk populations and run reports to collect and analyze data for evaluation of current and future injury prevention efforts.
- Trains and educates health care professionals and the community in injury prevention.
- Develop operational tools necessary to achieve injury prevention objectives and services.
- Employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience as an Emergency Room or ICU Nurse and the last 2 years in a trauma center.
- Must be Graduate of an accredited Nursing School/Program.
- BSN Degree required
- Skilled clinical experience in the overall care of the trauma patiet required
- Current and active RN:CA;
- AHA BLS ACLS;
- AHA PALS -- within 90 days of hire
- FIRESAFETY -- within 90 days of hire;
- TNCC -- within 6 months of hire
- Trauma Nurse Core Course instructor preferred
- Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses preferred
