Job Summary

Job purpose

The Seasonal Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move locate relocate stack and count merchandise; accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform product handler duties; promote and implement the companys core values and excellence in customer service; responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal customers.

Duties and responsibilities

Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
Pull and prepare product for shipment ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.
Load unload move stack and stage product and materials using a forklift pallet jack or handcart.
Use radio equipment for picking receiving put away and load functions as required.
Maintain the companys equipment and materials in a neat clean and orderly fashion.
Supports maintaining a safe working environment and focuses on safe work habits.
Maintains a focus for self and team on continuous learning that will enhance skill sets and growth opportunities.
Demonstrates a commitment to Transpac LLCs core values.

Qualifications

A high school diploma and/or equivalent experience
Computer skills desired for operating warehouse management system (WMS)
1-2 years of forklift experience preferred
Possess a current and valid forklift certification
Must have the ability to meet warehouse deadlines

Physical requirements

Sitting Standing Walking
Heavy lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling)
Exposure to varied temperatures within warehouse environment
Work inside and outside; work around machinery with moving parts and vehicles
Carrying pushing pulling boxes and items; up to 75-100 lbs at times.
