Job Summary

Do you want to use the latest technology and tools to build LLM-powered solutions that make services for customers and colleagues better faster and easier Are you a data scientist with knowledge of and hands-on experience in GenAI who is ready for a new challenge Do you want to optimize and automate processes using LLMs and Agents Then this position is just right for you! We are expanding and looking for a colleague to strengthen our team.

You will be part of the AI team for the L&P Services branch which serves as the expertise centre for external chat building scalable and repeatable GenAI-based chat solutions for the entire Nationale-Nederlanden group. As these involve NLP applications for the Dutch language proficiency in Dutch is required.

What you are going to do

Together with your team you will develop innovative AI solutions that create value for our company of tomorrow. Exploring new technology and matching it to opportunities building new solutions and implementing them are the key aspects of your role. You will use state-of-the-art techniques such as RAG LLM frameworks and OpenAI APIs. You understand how to help business colleagues translate their needs into AI solutions. But you also wont shy away from implementing traditional machine learning techniques to create benefits for the department.

Specifically you will:

Develop and implement innovative (Gen)AI solutions to optimize processes
Implement existing AI solutions from other departments for our own department
Collaborate with business units to continuously spot new opportunities
Analyse and resolve complex business and technical challenges

Who you are

You have:

A masters degree in data science econometrics or a related field
Demonstrable experience with Python and developing ML applications deploying LLMs or implementing RAG
Experience with LangGraph and agentic frameworks is an advantage
Practical knowledge of the data science process such as data collection cleansing model evaluation and model implementation
Preferably experience with software engineering practices such as Azure CI/CD tools Git automated testing etc
Analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and customer-oriented attitude excellent communication skills in and the ability to work effectively within an Agile team and with end users

But above all you are keen to further develop the above points on the job.

Who you will work with

Youll be part of the AI L&P Services team an Agile self-organizing team consisting of 4 data scientists and a business process manager. Together we spot AI opportunities build the solutions and implement them. We collaborate closely with an engineering team that helps us host our solutions in a robust manner and with different IT teams that help us implement our solutions. We work according to the Scrum methodology and alternate between working from home and working at the office which is literally next door to Rotterdam Central Station. The atmosphere is collegial open and informal with plenty of room where we heavily appreciate proactiveness and new ideas.

At Nationale-Nederlanden we work in a hybrid manner: partly from home and partly at the office. Teams meet digitally physically or in a hybrid format. You and your team will decide what works best.
