General Operative
The Role
To carry out tasks set by site supervisors and gangers to a high and safe standard. Must be willing to do labouring work along with slinger duties ideally with shaft and tunnelling experience and a keen attitude to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and carry out job-set tasks
- Ensure have been briefed and understand all relevant risk and method statements
- Use best/safest practices on all tasks carried out.
- Checks on any equipment that may be used
- Ensure a safe tidy place of work
Ensure the completion of work is on time
- Implement best practice procedures.
- Maximise use of own working time
- Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work
Communication with site management
- Communicate with the site supervisor on any health and safety concerns
- Feedback to site management with near-miss/close-call reporting
- Ensure attendance at all site briefings forums and toolbox talks
Essential
- A practical hands-on approach
- Experience in general civil works including earthworks drainage ducting and concreting
- CSCS card
- Good team worker
