Job Summary

The role

You will join our cross-functional team dedicated to ensuring effective communication with HelloFresh customers. As a Data Engineer you will play a pivotal role in implementing and operating high-scale data processing pipelines that support our communications platform and message types such as email SMS and push notifications. Your team will be a place where your thoughts and opinions matter and your contributions will have a tremendous impact on the teams success.

What youll do

Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team of 6-10 members utilizing diverse technologies and frameworks
Take ownership of the end-to-end process including design development deployment and operations of data pipelines applying DevOps practices pair programming and other cutting-edge methodologies
Actively contribute as a solution-oriented member within autonomous cross-functional agile teams collaborating with product owners backend engineers mobile engineers and business intelligence teams
Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of HelloFreshs core product and architecture serving as an ambassador for software solutions and providing support and mentorship to colleagues
Work with state-of-the-art technologies like AWS EMR Kafka PySpark Kubernetes Airflow and more

What youll bring

Solid software engineering experience with the ability to design implement and deliver maintainable high-quality code in Python/PySpark
Hands-on experience with cloud computing and data processing technologies including Spark Amazon EMR Kubernetes and Kafka
Proficiency in data modeling relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and object stores (e.g. AWS S3)
Expertise in end-to-end development processes including unit integration & functional testing application tuning/profiling and continuous integration
Demonstrated experience with agile methodologies with a strong focus on delivery lean thinking and quick iterations
A continuous learner who seeks to develop your skills and learn from peers
Thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys mentoring team members while also sharing practical knowledge and trends
Experience with event-driven architecture is nice to have
Bonus points for practical experience integrating marketing providers such as Iterable Salesforce Marketing Cloud and HubSpot
