Job Summary:

The Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine is seeking a full-time entry-level Research Services Clinical Science Professional for diverse research evaluating post-COVID-19 and post-critical illness recovery. We are expanding our team to support efforts including clinical trials under FDA oversight NIH-funded research and Investigator initiated studies.

The person in this role under the guidance and supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and Research Manager ensures the integrity and quality of clinical trials are maintained and conducted in accordance w/ federal state and local regulations Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals and OMRC policies and procedures. This position is primarily responsible for the accurate completion of visit procedures and collection of information from study participants according to protocols and for protecting the health safety and welfare of research participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in recruitment and selection of study participants by interviewing and documenting medical history to determine compliance with eligibility requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with each studys protocol by providing thorough review and documentation at each subject study visit.

  • May administer investigational medications as qualified and perform study participant assessments during study visits to determine presence of side effects and notify Principal Investigator of findings/issues.

  • Provide study education and medical information to study participants to ensure understanding of proper medication dosage administration and disease treatment.

  • Document medical data in patient chart to capture protocol requirements.

Onsite this role is expected to work onsite and is located on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in any field.

    • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in science or health related field.

  • Clinical research or related experience.

  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems).

  • Experience with Long-COVID patient populations.

  • Spanish language fluency desired.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy physiology and medical terminology.

  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.

  • Detail oriented and meticulous in all aspects of work.

  • Strong follow-through skills and ability to proactively identify and solve problems; demonstrated initiative is imperative.

  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Possess the ability to work well under pressure multi-task and manage deadlines.

  • Knowledge of HIPM policies and procedures.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $48446 $61623.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
