Job Summary
A prestigious independent boarding and day school in Salisbury is seeking a dedicated inspiring and passionate Music Teacher to join its thriving and well-established Music Department from January 2026. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Music across KS3KS5 nurturing students musical abilities through a balance of practical performance composition and theoretical understanding. You will play a central role in maintaining and developing the rich musical tradition of the school supporting both curricular and co-curricular activities that reflect its commitment to artistic excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Plan prepare and deliver engaging and imaginative Music lessons across KS3KS5.
Direct choirs orchestras bands or chamber ensembles fostering teamwork and confidence in young musicians.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Music examinations ensuring high academic outcomes.
Support school productions concerts and other public performances both locally and nationally.
Collaborate with visiting peripatetic teachers to coordinate instrumental lessons and performance opportunities.
Contribute to the creative life of the school through tours festivals competitions and outreach initiatives.
Maintain up-to-date subject knowledge and take an active role in departmental planning and development.

Experience and Qualifications
Degree in Music or a related field ideally combined with QTS/PGCE.
Proven experience teaching Music to GCSE and A-Level standards.
Strong background in performance conducting or composition.

Commitment to contributing fully to the musical and cultural life of the school.
Excellent communication organisation and teamwork skills.
