Job Summary

Position Description This role is responsible for providing engineering production support for transition of new design to production and resolution of issues encountered in the build process for production designs. Generates new designs and solutions to meet technical cost and schedule constraints. Design efficient interface components for integration of new products. Investigate root-cause analysis of design issues arising during production and develops the associated change documentation to resolve design issues. Work closely with a team of engineers and other specialty engineers to resolve issues that span the structures ballistics mechanical and logistics disciplines. Prepare presentations and variance documentation in response to production non-compliance issues to support vehicle sales. Perform trade studies or tolerance stack analyses during investigation support. Analyze and interpret design specifications drawings documentation models and test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards military specifications and product requirements. Create and edit CAD models in PTC Creo and ensure systems are designed for producibility. Design and analyze welded and bolted joints. Use finite element analysis tools and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Provide input to project leaders for development of project plans shcedules and budges and ensure tasks meet cost quality schedule and performance requirements. Prepare and deliver technical reports papers and presentations. Troubleshoot and diagnose testing issues with components document test issues and maintain an organized data log. Work with suppliers to facilitate cost and quality improvements. Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering disciplines industry practices trends and applications. May require daily perieods of on-floor support walking between many locations throughout the day and climbing in/on vehicles to assess issues.
Skills Required Must be organized and have excellent communication skills demonstrated ability to perform technical presentations. Must be a self-starter that takes ownership of tasks and drives them to completion. Good engineering analytical skills with experience doing root-cause-corrective-action. Knowledge of FEA and GD&T. Experience using CREO or SolidWorks CAD tools.
Skills Preferred Knowledge/experience with drawings models and GD&T standards and application. Experience with CREO or other CAD tools. Experience with tolerance analysis trade studies FEA analysis.
Experience Required Experience designing analyzing and integrating technology into combat vehicles. Experience with solid modles and mechanical designs using CAD sysstms preferably PTC Pro-E CREO or SolidWorks.
Experience Preferred Experienced with tolerance analysis trade studies FEA analysis. Experience with design of structures or vehcile applications in the defense industry. Experience communicating with customers. Experience with military standards and good manufacturing practices. Experience supporting production. Experience with drawings models and GD&T standards and applications.
Education Required Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related degree (eg Aerospace Engineering) and 2 to 6 years of engineering work experience.
Education Preferred BSME or BSAE
