Summary:
-
Fabricate high-quality furniture and wood-surfaced subassemblies using stationary and handheld tools.
-
Interpret material specifications and engineering drawings to ensure finished products meet design requirements and quality standards.
-
Coordinate with supervision to ensure compliance with customer-approved design samples.
-
Utilize a variety of woodworking tools and techniques.
-
Comply with and promote safety 5S and housekeeping policies ensuring aircraft interior protection.
-
Collaborate with leads and senior technicians to implement process improvements that enhance safety reduce cost cycle time and man-hours using Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies.
-
Use material tracking systems to create parts demand track squawks and sign-off work.
-
Assume Lead responsibilities as required mentoring and training less experienced technicians.
-
Oversee projects and coordinate task delegation with Lead.
-
Conduct safety audits and assist team members in performing audits.
-
Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
-
Coordinate with other backshops as necessary.
-
Adapt to schedule changes as required.
-
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
Advanced knowledge of cabinetmaking processes and products
-
Minimum of 4 years of cabinetmaking experience
-
Aerospace industry experience preferred
-
Working knowledge of inspection and process specifications preferred
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to read write speak and understand English
-
Ability to climb ladders and stairs work in confined spaces lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift
-
Computer literate
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
