Respite providers enhance the quality of life for customers with intellectual or developmental disabilities. You will be supporting individuals who choose to receive services either in their family home or in a host home environment by:

  • Collaborating with individuals receiving services their loved ones and their support team
  • Taking an individualized approach to services respecting the different strengths goals desires and challenges of all PPCH people.
  • Promoting high-quality customer service internally and externally through communication collaboration and innovative thinking.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of PPCH and other regulating agencies policies procedures rules regulations and guidelines.



What is a respite provider


Are you looking for some extra work while making a difference in the lives of others Then Respite provider is perfect for you! A respite provider is a PPCH contractor who offers only short-term support to individuals in services. Respite may take place either in the home of the primary contractor or in the respite providers home. Respite can last anywhere from 1-30 days.

Those who offer respite play an important part in ensuring services are sustainable. Sometimes providers have emergencies and respite is a necessary support to them and their families. Self-care is also an important part of work in this field and respite can allow providers a chance to rest or take a break to ensure their needs are also met.

Parker Personal Care Homes is looking for dedicated honest and responsible respite providers to provide compassionate care and support to adults with Developmental Disabilities. Care can include services and supports that might include personal care problem solving safety in the community including the individual in community and recreational activities increasing levels of independence managing challenging behaviors and/or assisting with medical needs.



What type of training does a Respite Provider receive

PPCH provides specialized training to all providers with no charge to you.

Training includes:

  • CPR/First Aid
  • Medication Administration
  • Customer Rights & many other areas
  • Behavior Safety Training
  • All host homes are monitored closely by PPCH to ensure that the customer is receiving the highest level of care

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Professionalism and Compassion
  • Focus on individualized care and support
  • Ability to teach others
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid drivers license and clean motor vehicle record
  • Clear background screening and reference checks
  • Ability to chart individual progress through a web-based system
  • Ability to ensure the health and safety of the individuals in your care
  • Experience with Developmental Disabilities is preferred but not required

Await contact from the Recruiter who may ask you some screening questions or may prompt you to complete and submit background authorizations so that a full suite of background checks can be conducted

PPCH may check references which is done through a web-based system called Skill Survey

If PPCH decides to move forward after favorable background and reference verification we will then connect you to other team members for training compliance and if necessary a home inspection
