Job Summary:
The Equipment Technician will be responsible for maintaining troubleshooting and repairing production equipment to ensure optimal operation. Strong technical skills attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment required. The Equipment Technician will also be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability minimizing downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the production process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a related field or technical certification preferred.
- Experience as an equipment technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical electrical and pneumatic systems and the ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment.
- Equipment and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) experience is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Good understanding of safety regulations and practices in an industrial setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying physical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical electrical and system-related issues and perform repairs as needed.
- Ensure equipment is calibrated and operating within specifications.
- Support equipment installations upgrades and improvements to enhance production efficiency.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to the established schedule.
- Work closely with the engineering team to implement process improvements and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including repairs parts usage and time spent.
- Ensure that safety protocols are followed during maintenance and repair activities.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to address equipment failures and ensure smooth operations.
- Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns promptly and work effectively to resolve issues.
- Participate in equipment performance reviews and recommend solutions for improvement.
- Assist in training new technicians and team members on equipment operations and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards including safety and quality procedures.
