Job Summary
Empath Health is currently seeking a Music Therapist to join our team.
Field based position covering metro Sarasota area
The Music Therapist:
- Collaborates with the IDT to implement a plan of care for patients and families with the approval of the physician utilizing music therapy.
- Provides supportive social services and bereavement services as determined by the patient/family needs and the interdisciplinary Plan of Care.
Position Requirements:
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree (B.A.) in Music Therapy from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years paid experience in music therapy preferred with emphasis in psychosocial field preferred.
- Credentialed as a Music Therapist Board Certified (MT-BC) preferred or eligible to sit for the exam within first 90 days of employment.
- Music performing proficiency and ability to create an effective therapeutic environment for Patient/Family.
- For field-based positions employees must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance a copy of which will be placed in the employees HR file.
