Position Overview

The MAG Auditor is responsible for auditing financial and statistical cost reporting data to ensure the accuracy of Medicaid reimbursement rates. This role involves preparing and signing off on tentative and final cost settlements performing on-site field audits for childrens hospitals and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit financial and statistical cost reporting data to determine providers reimbursement rates for Medicaid claims.
  • Prepare and sign off on tentative and final cost settlements for hospitals Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
  • Perform on-site field audits of childrens hospitals and other healthcare providers (some travel required).
  • Reconcile FQHC quarterly wrap payments to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
  • Review and analyze provider financial data identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of federal and state compliance rules and regulations to ensure accuracy in reporting and adherence to guidelines.
  • Recommend changes to provider policies and procedures to enhance compliance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support audit findings and maintain documentation of all audit processes and results.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education:Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience:Minimum 3 years of auditing and accounting experience (Medicaid or healthcare auditing preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven leadership qualities and a collaborative mindset.

Additional Details

  • This is a remote position but local candidates (Austin TX area) are preferred due to occasional on-site audits and team collaboration needs.
  • Travel may be requiredfor on-site field audits.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa restrictions).
