Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Economics and Finance at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position (#113170) in Economics at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
- Conduct research in the following areas of economics:
- applied microeconomics.
- macroeconomics.
- econometrics.
- labor economics.
- industrial organization.
- international economics.
- related fields.
- engage in service to the department college and university.
- maintain an active research agenda leading to peer-reviewed publications.
Required Education
A terminal degree in economics is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with the following will receive special consideration:
- Ability to teach in multiple areas of economics.
- Experience with data analysis software (e.g. Stata R Python).
- Demonstrated commitment to student engagement.
- Holding or pursuing professional certifications such as the NABE Certified Business Economist (CBE) credential.
- Relevant applied or policy experience.
