What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Transportation Technical Principal you will serve as a senior leader and trusted advisor providing technical expertise and strategic direction on complex transportation planning and design projects across the province. Youll oversee the delivery of innovative roadway transit and infrastructure solutions ensuring projects meet client expectations regulatory requirements and industry this role youll mentor and develop technical staff support business development through strong client relationships and contribute to shaping the growth of the transportation practice by driving technical excellence and fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

What Youll Do:

As a Technical Principal for the Transportation Planning and Design team a part of your responsibilities will include planning design and construction support for Transportation projects. We will count on you to:

  • Oversee the transportation engineering practice within Consor Engineering Transportation Planning and Design business line.
  • Ensure that work is consistent with Consor Engineering and industry design standards.
  • Provide high level QA/QC of engineering plans and specifications.
  • Provide Project Management on high profile and/or complex transportation projects.
  • As required provide engineering design services to Consor projects in Transportation projects.
  • Lead regular practice group meetings to review and update design standard plates specifications and design documentation criteria.
  • Lead and/or assist in business development activities for transportation engineering projects of larger pursuits in other Consor vertical business lines.
  • Lead/assist in the Identification of individual key/strategic hires for Consor Engineering.
  • Lead/assist in the Identification and screening of key firms for acquisition into Consor Engineering.
  • Provides leadership on transportation engineering elements of key client and project pursuits.
  • Actively participates in key industry conferences tradeshows and events.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary technical teams.
  • Manage work programs project schedules and budgets.
  • Provide excellent client service.
  • Write technical memoranda engineering reports and planning studies.
  • Develop and deliver complete design and project bid packages.
  • Provide construction support.
  • Assist with business development and winning the next project.

What Youll Need:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil engineering (Masters considered an asset).
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • 15 years of progressive civil engineering experience.
  • Proven project management skills with ability to oversee complex multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Excellent communication skills both technical writing and client-facing.
  • Experience with business development proposal preparation and client engagement.
  • Valid Ontario drivers licence is required.
