Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position (#129030) in sociology at the rank of assistant or associate professor whose research and teaching focus is health illness and healthcare systems. The start date for the position is August 1 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses including those with a focus on health illness and healthcare systems.
- Maintain an active research agenda with potential for external funding with a focus onhealth illness and healthcare systems.
- Advise and mentor students from varied social and economic backgrounds.
- Contribute to departmental college and university service.
Required Education
A terminal degree in sociology is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants who can contribute to the departments focus on applied and practice-oriented sociology will receive special consideration.
